Somewhere along the way, the wardrobe advice became:
Just layer shapewear.

Lines showing? Layer shapewear.
Fabric clinging? Layer shapewear.
Dress a bit tricky? Layer shapewear.

So a lot of us just… do it.
Even if it’s hot.
Even if it rolls.
Even if we hate every second of it.

Because it’s the option we’re told exists.

Is it actually good advice?
Or just the advice we’ve all gotten used to following?

It probably depends on what you’re sacrificing.

If it costs you nothing… sure.
Good advice.

But if it means looking at your wardrobe with dread,
spending the day feeling suffocated,
ripping your outfit off the moment you walk through the door,
or thinking about what’s underneath your clothes all day…

Then it’s probably bad advice.

The real solution probably isn’t more layers.

It’s better design.
